Manhattan is an island located at the mouth of the Hudson River north of New York Harbor and is also one of the five boroughs that make up New York City, USA.
The district has the same boundaries as New York County and includes the island of Manhattan, as well as several smaller islands (Roosevelt, Randall, among others), also from a small portion of the mainland (Marble Hill, which is geographically in the Bronx, but politically belongs to New York County). In 2018, the population was 1,628,701. New York County is the smallest county in the city. Manhattan is also known as “The Center of New York City”.
